Man on the Street

Each month we will be hitting the streets, armed with a camera, to find and photograph you and other fittingly, dressed gentlemen strolling around the city.

In order to discover and celebrate: your style, what inspires you, whether you’re fashion conscious, where you buy and what’s important to you. Questions, questions, questions… And we’re off to a flying start this month, we’ve have been able to pick the brain of this model Dan.

Style: “My wardrobe ethic is very clean cut, sharp and smart.”

Inspiration: “The GQ style section, this seasons H&M summer collection and the current ‘checkered’ trend.”

Favourite Stores: “M&S and Next provide some excellent off the rail tailoring and timeless designs. When pushing the boat out I arrange a personal appointment at Austin Reed or Hugo Boss for an individually tailored suit.

For a casual affordable blazer, the best places on the high street I have found this season are H&M and River Island. Also Topman’s skinny fit cut range is ideal for my body shape.

When in need of a good fitting shirt I venture to TM Lewin and Moss Bro’s who retail my favourite label at the moment; Ventuno 21.”

Type of Fit: “I look for a great cut, single or two button, large lapel or curvature are all factors I feel are important to consider when searching for a new suit. AW’s current summer city collection have a great selection.”

Accessories: “I adore jackets with interesting colourful and patterned linings. Silk scarves are also a great way to spice up any outfit.”

Top Picks: “I love casual blazers, a slim fit cut and I have a weakness for tweed.”

Our say at AW: Royal navy, deep purple and light grey suits are the new black this summer, paired with a coloured shirt or tie, tropical brights are the perfect contrasting match: blood orange, mustard yellow, aqua or emerald green. Bold floral and geometric prints are raging on the catwalks right now, why not give this exciting trend a nod and opt for an extravagant, patterned jacket lining.

To conclude, what a great insight into Dan’s wardrobe, top trends this season and personal style! Watch out, it could be you next month. Until next time, keep smart, look sharp and stay suave.
