Man of the Month – Benedict Cumberbatch
This month our chosen man is award winning, English actor and producer, Benedict Cumberbatch. He is certainly one stylish gentleman, often photographed donning a classic, inspired ensemble, which ties in with some of his top roles; Sherlock Holmes, The Imitation Game and upcoming Hamlet.
Benedict is known to attract an older female fan base, compared with his co-stars. You may wonder how he manages this? Perhaps it’s down to his own age, his quick wit, or his timeless sense of style. Here’s a couple of hints and tips, on how to achieve Benedict’s look. Why not, add a hint of charm and perhaps you’ll have the same effect on the ladies too…
Grey Shine; There’s an air of boardroom meets movie star about this look. Whether it’s down to the sheer grey fabric, sharp tailoring or fitted white shirt. The timeless black patent shoes do the trick. These shoes not only complete the look, but draw the eye down, ensuring the whole outfit is taken into consideration. Making Benedict look like a boss.
Black on black; the sheer simplicity of this look and the sharp tailoring should inspire even the most lazy of us to want to dress up. Careful though, as there is also something rather unruly and effortless about the way, Benedict has unbuttoned his shirt, combined with the creases in his trousers and sleeves. His styled hair and patent dress shoes save him from looking dishevelled. Ideal for any dinner party and film premier. It’s a hit from us at AW!
Monochrome; here’s proof of the transformation a white shirt, tie and waistcoat can have! Cumberbatch has gone from super chic to old school classic. Besides doing up all of his buttons. Benedict’s hair has cleverly been styled much softer, likewise with his suit fabric. Whilst being a lighter black it looks soft to the touch. Completed with a suede shoe. A timeless smart, ensemble fit for an awards ceremony and even the queen. If you too don a similar hair do to Cumberbatch, follow suit and on occasion let those curls run wild, often they can prove tricky. Control with a slick of gel and a side parting, a classic yet effective hair do and in keeping with the following suits. Ginger blue and red velvet may both sound like something you would find on a menu. But in this instance we are referring to the recipe for outfit success. Both ideal for standing out at events. So, what are you waiting for? Take a leaf out of Benedict Cumberbatch’s cook book and be sure to give it all you’ve got.
