GQs top 10 men of the year awards
It was the GQ Men of the Year awards last night, where some of the most stylish and talented Men came together as one. At Alexandra Wood, we take a look at their style.
Lewis Hamilton – Winner of The Best sportsman of the year award, 2015.
His driving skills are undeniable, the graceful way in which he speeds over the finish line may explain why he lets rip in the wardrobe department. Some of Lewis’ clothing choices are rather eccentric and seem somewhat out of character for the sunny, good looking Brit but he’s still young and I guess when you can experiment, why not….
I like to see Lewis in his cool, laid back style with a smattering of layering, or an understated suit with simple accessories. For me, I find it looks a little clumsy when there’s too much swag being entertained. Less is more. Lewis is slight, smiley and looks younger than his 30 years and I’d dress him in Fresh, bright and soft colours, with clean lines and less fuss.
One thing is for sure, Lewis looks good in a suit and this is a great wardrobe staple. He can experiment and it works, but by holding a little bit back on the super bright colours, unless out on occasion where it fits with the scene.
Here are some of my favourite Lewis looks:
Congratulations Lewis! We’re all rooting for you here at AW headquarters.
Other winners included:
Paul Rudd won best leading Man of the Year
George Osborne for best Politician of the year. One Daily Mail articles headline read: “Is George trying TOO hard to look gorgeous’
David Gandy awarded most stylish man of the year by Hugo Boss
Sam Smith best solo artist
Christoph Waltz Actor of the year
Lionel Richie for the icon of the year
One things for sure, these Men are well deserving of their awards.
